Joining HMS is easy and you can opt to be either a full ‘re-enacting’ member or an ‘associate member’ – whichever suits you.

In the first instance you need only to:-

Contact our membership secretary

and he will process your application. We have a special ‘Introductory’ membership rate which applies for your first weekend only – we can usually lend you clothes for this too.

The cost of uniforms can vary and if you are able to sew – or know someone who can –  then they can be extremely reasonable. We can help you with advice and patterns, etc.  You might want to be a rating, a Royal Marine – or perhaps an officer…

Maybe you’re a musician or you are interested in boats, rowing and sailing. We have a successful team involved with C18th living and they prepare authentic food and drink in addition to demonstrating the ‘genteel’ arts of the Georgian period.

Alternatively you could join HMS as an Associate Member. You will not be able to take part in our events but it is an excellent way to keep up to date with HMS activities and help us in our research.
