We have built up an impressive portfolio of clients including English Heritage, the  The Discovery Channel , BBC, Channel 4, various maritime museums as well as several major festivals including the International Festival of the Sea at Portsmouth and ‘Meet Your Navy’ events.

Filming

We are often called on for filming work. Over the years HMS has built up a reputation for quality film work. We can provide accurate clothed people to portray navies (not just the Royal Navy but French and Spanish too) of the Napoleonic period. We can also provide people to portray the Royal Navy of WWII.

We are able to provide acknowledged experts in the Royal Navy of the period to talk about or demonstrate all aspects of shipboard life.

Our work has included projects for Channel 4, BBC and the Discovery Channel.

What our sponsors say

Leeds City Museum

“The Historical Maritime Society brought a real flavour of the 18th century to our event at Leeds City Museum celebrating the new Harrison Clock display.  For 2 hours, the various members of ‘the crew’ kept visitors enthralled with tales of life at sea, from a carpenter to a surgeon, accompanied by an impressive range of objects to be explored and detailed knowledge of the period.  The authenticity and detail of the costumes worn by the re-enactors added to the whole experience.  A pleasure to work with.”
